30 Jun Planting with Purpose: A Sculptural Touch for Pietra Casa
We were delighted to be part of the launch evening for Pietra Casa’s beautiful new showroom – a relaxed, stylish gathering with a lovely crowd, delicious aperitivos, and the irresistible scent of wood-fired cooking in the air.
For the planting, we wanted to create something that felt calm, grounded, and in tune with the elegant simplicity of the space. At the centre of the design is a sculptural acer tree – its fine, feathery leaves catching the light and bringing a quiet sense of grace to the room. Around its base, soft ferns spill over rocks we added for shape and texture, giving a nod to a shady woodland floor.
We used a gentle mix of indoor plants to add movement and depth – playing with different shapes, heights, and shades of green to create a rhythm that feels both natural and quietly uplifting. Subtle uplighting brings out the form of the acer and casts soft shadows across the leaves in the evening.
The end result is a planting scheme that softens the space, adds a touch of serenity, and sits beautifully alongside the showroom’s natural materials and clean lines.
